Spend a Sunday afternoon at The Noguchi Museum with fellow Bears. We will hear from Brett Littman, Executive Director of The Drawing Center, and Dakin Hart, Senior Curator of The Noguchi Museum, as they "discuss how and why drawing is fundamental to establishing the faculty Michelangelo called disegno (design): the ability to coordinate the hand, the eye, and the brain in service of the artistic imagination."
We will peruse and discuss "drawings in the exhibition Noguchi's Early Drawings in order to parse how Noguchi's serial imitations of canonical Modernist approaches to abstracting the human figure helped him develop the values and strategies that became his style."
Following our museum visit, we will head to the Strand Smokehouse for a round of beers, moonshine, and merriment.
